John Roth: His strengths are in strategic operational development, including business operations, program management, oversight of strategy and business planning, legal, accountancy, management information systems, asset utilization, sales and production processes, and control functions. He maintains a formidable management record of accomplishment as a recognized leader in marketing and strategic partnerships across the consumer and technology sectors.
As an entrepreneur, John has developed other ventures, including the online business 10 Limited and websites for various other entities. Before joining Unoversal as Marketing director and then COO, John served as CEO of iBuilderz (an Internet marketing and Web design company). Before iBuilderz, John was the marketing director for one of the largest timeshare remarketers in Florida. John’s experience includes seven years in franchise licensing with Century 21 and Fantastic Sam’s; He also spent ten years in telecom and data communications with BTI telecom, US-LEC/Paetec/now Windstream and Atlantic, a division of Lucent/Avaya/AT&T; another ten years in the computer industry, wherein he served as IBM Marketing Manager for Computers Unlimited of Wisconsin (a $117 million per year computer distribution company), Computer Express, Entre’ Computers, Sears Business Systems. He’s also managed offices for Genegraphics (a GE graphics enterprise), Sears Business Systems, and Computer Express, gaining accounts such as Knight Ridder, Alamo Rent-A-Car, IBM, and Miami/Dade County government in South Florida.
John attended Broward College, Florida International University, and Harper College, where he studied architecture, computer programming, and business information systems. He has certifications in management and computer technology with companies such as IBM, Hewlett-Packard/Compaq, Lucent/Avaya, BTI, and others. John’s technical and marketing experience, along with his keen eye for design, have helped him become a valuable asset in developing and executing marketing strategies in the Internet and technology fields. John’s business activities include several chambers of commerce, the Board of Directors of Greater Tampa Chamber, a graduate of Leadership Miami, its alumni organization’s (LMAA) BOD, and the American Marketing Association. John lives in the Tampa area with his wife of forty-two years, and they have three grown children. He and his wife are active in Christian ministries, including the Kairos Prison Ministry.
